Cervicothoracic and Shoulder Complex Manual Course
Differential diagnosis of cervical vs thoracic vs GHJ evaluation is provided to understand where your patient’s pain is originating from. Learn a systematic approach to mobilizing/manipulating the cervicothoracic spine as well as the GHJ, ACJ and SCJ. Learn how difficult cases such as adhesive capsulitis and neurological radicular symptoms are differentially diagnosed and then effectively treated with spinal mobilization/manipulation. A hands-on lab format is provided to change patient's pain the first visit, from severe acute neurological symptoms to patients who have been experiencing pain or headaches for years with no relief.

Differential Diagnosis Course: A Multidisciplinary View
The Differential Diagnosis course spans the disciplines of medicine. This course is co-taught by DPT, MD, and PA-C. We feel it is very important that all disciplines of medicine speak the same language. This course is designed to help our profession bridge the communication gap between providers and gain insight into how an Orthopedic MD or PA-C approach the same patient that we will see. At the same time enhance your differential diagnostic skills and learn what's important when viewing and interpreting diagnostic tests (XR, MRI, CT, etc.). It is our aim to have the physical therapy profession be held in the highest regard with in the eyes of the medical community and the public.Focus will be on the evaluation and differential diagnosis of systemic diseases that may present as neuromusculoskeletal impairments. Orthopedic and medical evaluation will be taught as outlined by the APTA and within the scope of physical therapy practice. This course is a mixed presentation of both evidence-based lecture and hands on lab experience in orthopedic/medical evaluation. Dress comfortably in lab attire. Plan to bring your own stethoscope for auscultation, but please note there will be additional stethoscopes available if you forget yours. All other evaluation equipment will be provided. No prerequisite work is required, as we will provide a complete review of each orthopedic/systemic disorder as we go.
